Scheuerman Mill

Otis, Kansas 

Builder and operator of the grist mill Henry Scheuerman, Sr. and his family emigrated from Yagodnaya Polyana, Russia  in 1875. Coming from Baltimore, Maryland, they settled in Rush County, Kansas.  Scheuerman built his mill in 1878 and continued to mill grain until 1890.  Allegedly, people came from as far as Ellis County to have their grain milled.
